Omnicrom Outbreak Special Notice!

With the outbreak spreading accross Townsville we are taking a number of measures to limit the spread. As transmission between patients in the waiting room is one of the risks, we are trying to keep the waiting room as empty as possible.

Masks MUST be worn in the surgery. This is a legal requirement under government regulations and is a sensible way of reducing transmission by asymptomatic and symptomatic patients.

Symptoms of COVID include: Fever, cough, tiredness, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, headache, aches and pains, diarrhoea, a rash on skin, or discolouration of fingers or toes, red or irritated eyes and the symptoms of serious complications (difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, loss of speech or mobility, confusion and chest pain)

If you have any of these symptoms: YOU MUST NOT ENTER THE WAITING ROOM. In the worst case senario this could result in the death of other patients. Ring reception and they will arrange admission via a different entrance or an assessment by the Doctor or Nurse in your vehicle.

If you do not have any COVID symptoms: On arrival in the car park, if possible stay in your air-conditioned car and ring reception to let them know you are waiting in your car rather than in the waiting room, then when the Doctor or Nurse is free for your appointment you will be rung and asked to come straight through to the consulting room, treatment room or theatre. This will limit your exposure to COVID and other viruses and help limit the exposure of other people (especially those who are already unwell) to any illness you may be carrying (including asymptomatic COVID).
