Dr Daniell & Mackay Patients: The After Hours Medical Practice is operating from the Medilink Center (next door to The Townsville Hospital). The practice is staffed on a roster basis by local GPs including ourselves.  Qualified nursing staff are also on duty.  The practice is open from 6pm to 10pm every weekday, from 12 midday to 10pm on Saturday and from 8am to 10pm on Sundays and public holidays.  As our surgery is often open after 6pm it may be worth ringing our normal practice number to see if we have any available appointments.  If we have finished surgery a recorded message will direct you to the After Hours Medical Practice.   The fee for a standard consultation at the After Hours Practice is $70.00.
After 10pm the After Hours Medical Practice now provides an "on-call" doctor.  Calls are screened and will be connected to the doctor if appropriate.  Secure site or home visits can then be arranged.  Fees for visits after 10pm vary - however a higher Medicare rebate is available.  If you are seen either at the After Hours Medical Centre or by the "on-call" doctor after 10pm full details of your visit will be faxed to our practice and will be entered in your medical records here.
